QUAKER STEAK & LUBE® GEARS UP FOR NEW LOCATION TO OPEN MAY 2
Quaker Steak & Lube® continues its national expansion with a new location in Harrisonburg, VA.
SHARON, PA. – April 18, 2012 – The Award-Winning casual-dining concept Quaker Steak & Lube®, known for its Best Wings USA and over 20 sauce varieties will bring a new restaurant to Harrisonburg, VA. The Lube® will open to the public Wednesday, May 2nd at 3 pm. The restaurant will create close to 200 jobs for the area and will be the fourth Quaker Steak & Lube® location in Virginia. The new Lube will be located at 305 University Blvd. Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
The new restaurant is the Classic Lube II prototype. Originally built in Springfield, IL in 2011, this design maintains all the character and atmosphere that guests expect in a Quaker Steak & Lube® restaurant, all-the-while delivering a great experience in a compact powerhouse building. It incorporates tried and true construction methods for simplicity, ease and speed of construction, while integrating technology for operational savings. The building will feature high efficiency kitchen equipment, lower ceilings to decrease the amount of space needs to be air-conditioned and heated, one level roof design, enclosed patio with garage doors to increased seating capacity and a decrease in electrical amps to reduce energy costs.
"The modern design is a huge part of our company's expansion plans and represents an attractive investment for existing and potential franchisees, as well as company build," said John Longstreet, President and Chief Executive Officer of Quaker Steak & Lube®. "Dubbed the Classic Lube II, this design is going to play an integral role in our brand's expansion throughout the next couple years and we are excited to be bringing one to Harrisonburg, VA."
The new Classic Lube II encompasses a 7,700 square-foot design while accommodating seating for over 375 people including the enclosed patio and two bars.
"Our guests can expect the same quality of food and experience from the prototype facility that all Quaker Steak & Lube® restaurants have to offer," said David Miller, Vice President of Facilities & Development.
The Harrisonburg Lube restaurant includes spinning motorcycles hanging from the ceiling in the Handle Bar, a backyard buddy holding a classic Ford Coupe, a NASCAR in the Thunder Alley room and a Corvette Convertible hanging in the Vette Room. The Brickyard patio has its own bar and seating for over 100. Guests can watch their favorite teams on the state of the art 70" LEDs and 50" Plasmas throughout the restaurant – a total of 35 TVs. The lobby area in the entrance holds a classic dragster overhead.
The Harrisonburg Lube will feature appetizing menu selections and will hold supercharged events all week including All-You-Can-Eat Wings every Tuesday, Breaded Boneless night, Car Cruise-Ins and Bike Nites!
The Harrisonburg Lube will also feature a Pickup Wingo Window for convenient to-go food and the restaurant will be launching online ordering at www.lubewingstofly.com.
